NORD MILE: Brand Development, Naming, Logo Design, and Packaging Design for Seafood and Omega-3 Supplements
Branding agency BRANDEXPERT Freedom Island developed the NORD MILE brand for Omega-Sea, a Russian seafood producer with its own advanced manufacturing facilities in Russia. The new brand brings together premium seafood from northern seas and a range of omega-3 products. Omega-Sea was the first company in Russia to produce fish oil with a high omega-3 content in re-esterified triglyceride (rTG) form for encapsulation, meeting strict quality and safety standards.
The project aimed to establish NORD MILE as consumers’ first choice in the Russian market, clearly communicating the origins of its raw materials, sustainable fishing practices, and quality control at every stage, from catch to delivery.
NORD MILE’s brand positioning centers on a journey from clean northern waters to today’s consumers, who value the benefits of seafood and omega-3, transparency about product origins, and a manufacturer they can trust. The brand concept is grounded in sustainable fishing practices and rigorous control throughout the supply chain, from catch to packaging.
The BRANDEXPERT Freedom Island team created the NORD MILE name, brand platform, and visual strategy to reflect Omega-Sea’s northern character and technical expertise. A minimalist logo with navigational motifs and a restrained palette of cool marine colors create a modern, confident brand identity. The typography and visual identity system reinforce the brand’s premium image and adapt easily across applications, from packaging and labels to digital channels.
The packaging and label design developed for the NORD MILE range establishes a clear product hierarchy. Packaging for frozen seafood and wild-caught products highlights product origins and preparation methods, while the omega-3 capsule packaging combines pharmaceutical expertise with vivid imagery of northern seas and healthy living.
The packaging stands out on retail shelves and in online marketplace product listings, supporting a consistent brand image across B2C and B2B communications.
